Review of Reed City, Michigan

Crossroads
Star Rating - 8/14/2007
Reed City is a town of 2,000 in West Michigan that is the county seat of Osceola County. It is now the crossing point of the White Pine and Pere Marquette Trails and is located at the intersection of US 10 and US 131.
It is home to one of Michigan's best bakeries - Wright's Bakery. It is also the location of one of the largest Yoplait Yogurt production facilities.
Spectrum Health-Reed City is the largest employer. It has a pleasant downtown, modestly priced housing and great proximity to recreation, fishing and major retail locations in nearby Big Rapids and Cadillac.

I have only passed through on several trips, it was clean if a bit lean on stores, cafes and services. You have to go to Big Rapids for any real shopping but stop at Ashton's General Store, a small old time grocery with a great meat department and great service and clean as clean can be.
